Before applying for a business or home occupation license you should register your name with the Division of Corporation and Commercial Code. This registration can be done at the Heber Wells Building, 160 East 300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, phone toll free 1-877-526-3994. If you will be collecting sales tax, you should also obtain your sales tax number before applying.
