Come into the City Office (1600 East South Weber Drive) at least one day prior to moving into your residence and fill out an application for utility service or fill out the online application. A $120.00 utility deposit and a signed landlord agreement (part of utitlity card) is required if you are renting.
There are several reasons your water bill could be higher:
You may have a leak somewhere in your line - Something may be using water - continually running toilet, leaking dishwasher, leaking garden hose/faucet, leaking water softner, etc. It the home owner's responsibility to fix all leaks inside the house and anything found in the line from the meter to the house - if the meter itself is leaking, South Weber City will gladly help you fix it. Check out the water usage chart - a few droplets leaking over time can add up to a lot of water used.
Your meter read was incorrect - in this case the City will send someone out to read it again. If a mistake is found it will be corrected on your bill.
Simply more water was used than the month before - this can be true when you have guests, a pool or hot tub that was filled up with house water, sprinklers using house water, washing your car with house water, etc
